The photos in this collection are taken in front of the fake backdrop at Universal Studios. When at a place which specialises in making copies of the real thing, why would you need to take a picture in front of the ‘real’ landmark?
World famous landmarks can become a kind of visual glue for a billion strangers. People who have thrown aside their day to day activities and routines for casual wear and photo oppurtunities in the name of seeing something new, doing something different. Except they went to the same place everyone else went to and looked exactly the same while they were at it, in front of a copy of something which represents a place which is famous for making copies.
